I know that deciding to see a therapist--and finding the right one--can be daunting. You want someone you can feel comfortable with and someone you can trust with your most personal thoughts and feelings. More importantly, you are looking for a therapist who is good at her job. We therapists come from all walks of life—with varied schooling, backgrounds, and “styles.” No style is necessarily right or wrong; it just depends on what you are comfortable with. I consider my style to be laid-back but straight forward. Listening is one of the most important parts of my job, but I also tend to ask questions, offer feedback, and call it as I see it. I truly love what I do, and I consider my job a privilege. I hope the information on my site will help you on your quest for a good therapist. I welcome your phone call, and I’m glad to answer any questions you may have about me or my practice. ~ Melissa (photo by Shannon Sturgis @ Sync Weekly) |
